Jack Duane Herd, 85 years, of Anderson, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Anderson, Missouri.
Jack was born on June 28, 1929 in Coldwater, Kansas to the late Lennis and Alberta (Dale) Herd. He proudly served our country in the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Jack married Kathleen Howell on April 17, 1952 in Clayton, New Mexico and to this union three children were born. They moved to Anderson, Missouri in 1983 coming from Texas. He was a consultant for the Oil Industry overseas. Jack was also a farmer and rancher for several years until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Myron Herd, Jim Herd, Larry Herd, Dick Herd and Jerry Herd; two sisters, Joan York and Molly Herd; one grandchild, Kenny Ray Condreay.
Jack is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Kathleen Herd of the home; three children, Kim Condreay of Goodman, Missouri, Howell Herd of Lubbock, Texas, Torrey Herd of Anderson, Missouri; a sister, Bonnie Pyle of Pontiac, Illinois; six grandchildren, Krysten, Lacey, Kevin, Kyle, Kendall and Karla; eight great grandchildren, Chaz, Bronson, Zoe, Charles Ray, Riley Van, Sydney, Colton and Abigail; as well as a host of friends and relatives.
Memorial services for Jack Herd will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Chaplain Brian Giebler will officiate.
