He was born Oct. 19, 1917, in Declo, the fourth son of Leon Carl and Katie LeNell (Winn) Osterhout and graduated from Declo High School. He married Leora Christopherson on Aug. 4, 1938. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They treasured their union until her death in 1991. He rejoined her on this Valentine's Day after a 15-year absence. Our loss is now her gain.
His wife, his parents, and brothers, Welton, Winn, Milton, Ray, Devon and Owen, preceded Seymour in death.
He is survived by his brothers, Carl Osterhout and Kenneth (Melba) Osterhout both of Declo; four children, Ron (Judy) Osterhout of Burley, Karen (Richard) Wolf and Dennis (Jean) Osterhout of Declo, and Gwen (Ross) Hurst of Juniper; 24 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren.
He grew up on the family farm and made that his lifelong vocation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his family and was a loyal husband and exemplary father and grandfather. As Alzheimer's disease progressed, visits from great-grandchildren brought a special sparkle to his eyes and smiles to his face.
