She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be truly missed by all that knew her. She was a member of the Friendship Chapter #32, Order of the Eastern Star of Newburgh, where she was the past worthy matron in 1975. She was also a member of the Christ Gospel Church. In her spare time, Mary Ann enjoyed playing bingo, making porcelain dolls and crocheting.
She leaves to cherish many great memories with her husband, Donald Eugene Gray. Mary Ann and Donald were united in marriage December 23, 1954, and have shared the past 62 years together.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Donald Eugene Gray, of Evansville; daughters, Deborah Yancey (Alan), of St. Croix, Ind., and Tamara Gray, of Evansville; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Linda Carrico and Betty Lovelace, both of Evansville, and Sue Dorris (Jerry), of Dunmor, Ky.; brothers, Vernon Lewis (Wanda) and Danny Lewis (Cathy), both of Evansville, Larry Lewis (Dana), of Boonville; aunts, Dorothy "Tootsie" Cowling and Sophie Cavins, both of Grayville, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sons, Delmos "Fuzz" Gray and Doyle Gray; sisters, Jeanne Marie Lucas and Martha Dean Lewis; and her brother, John V. Lewis Jr.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2017, at the funeral home, with Reverend Sharon Spicer officiating. Entombment will be in Fairmont Cemetery Mausoleum, Henderson, Ky.
