Jacob Henry Waible [sic], 82 years old, of near Novelty, died early Monday evening, Jan. 19, 1953, at the Prairie view Rest Home at Lewistown, where he had been two weeks.
His body was brought to Edina, where it may be viewed today at the Hudson Funeral Home until time for funeral services, which will be held at 1 :30 o'clock this afternoon at the Novelty Christian Church, conducted by the Rev. J. L. Shoemaker of Shelbina. Burial will be in the Pleasant Prairie cemetery near Bethel.
Mr. Waible [sic] is survived by his wife and six sons and five daughters, Verna O. Waibel, Novelty; Glover Waible [sic], Monroe City; S1c John William Waible [sic], serving in Japan; M/Sgt. Lewis Henry Waible [sic], serving in Germany; Eugene Waible [sic], Monroe City; Robert Earl Waible [sic], Parks Air Force Base, Calif.; Mrs. Josephine Sumpter, Manhattan, Kan.; Mrs. La Von Mattingly, Monroe City; Mrs. Thelma Bolling, Clarence; Mrs. Katherine Vogt, Monroe City, and Miss Effie Waible [sic], at home.
Also surviving Mr. Waible [sic] are twelve grandchildren, two of whom are in Germany with their father, M/Sgt. Lewis Henry Waible [sic], and two half-brothers, Emery Waible [sic], Shelbyville, and Hurley Waible [sic], Shelbina.
Jacob Henry Waible [sic] was born in Shelby County Sept. 13, 1880, a son of Henry and Josephine Hag [sic] Waible [sic], both natives of Germany.
He married Edna Mae Tungate at Novelty July 1, 1908. To them were born the eleven children mentioned as surviving.
Mr. Waible [sic], a retired farmer, lived in the Novelty community the last eight years. He had been a member of the Mt Zion Lutheran Church near Bethel since he was a young man.
