SOMERVILLE, TN - Obel J. James, 88, formerly of Memphis, former Goldsmith's employee and retired hair stylist, died Wednesday at his home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Peebles Fayette County Funeral Home has charge. He was a World War II Navy veteran, graduate of Antoine School of Cosmetology in New York, YMCA swimming instructor, and founder of Chickasaw Bow Hunter's Club & Range. He leaves a niece who took care of him, Verner Druien. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society Fayette County chapter.
