Mass of Christian Burial for Florence H. Engelhart, 79, of Venturia will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Zeeland, ND. The Rev. Fr. Wenceslaus Katanga will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery Zeeland, ND.
Florence died May 24, 2017 at Ashley Nursing Home.

Visitation will be Monday from 1-3 pm at the funeral home, followed by visitation from 5-7 pm at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. There will be a liturgical wake and rosary at 7 pm.

Florence H. Mitzel, daughter of Simon and Annie (Gabriel) Mitzel was born July 13, 1937 at Strasburg, ND. She grew up on the family farm southeast of Zeeland and attended Zeeland Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1956.

She was united in marriage to James Engelhart on January 28, 1957 in St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. They made their home on the Engelhart farm and have lived and farmed there all their married lives. They raised seven children on this farm and Florence was also a hardworking farm wife.

Florence enjoyed gardening and working with flowers, sewing, and visiting with family and friends. Florence and James loved bus trips, traveling all of North America, including Mexico and Canada. Florence was very proud to be able to celebrate their 60th Wedding Anniversary together. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Christian Mother’s Altar Society, Red Hatters and Sew and Sew Homemaker’s Club.

Florence is survived by her husband of 60 years, James; seven children, Pat (Marvin) Olofson of Gwinner, ND, Jackie (Conrad) Malsam of Hosmer, SD, Lisa Moulsoff of Aberdeen, SD, Yvonne Engelhart of Wishek, ND, Kenny Engelhart of Bismarck, ND, Jimmy (Terra) Engelhart of Venturia and Kristi (Ordeen) Ebel of Zeeland; brother, Richard Mitzel of Zeeland; sisters, Rita Mastel of Strasburg, ND, Lucretia Feist of Zeeland and LaVern Fetting of Bismarck; 21 grandchildren, Jonathan Olofson, Brittany Olofson, Christopher Malsam, Brandon Malsam, Jessica Malsam, Katie Ann Moulsoff, Jamie Moulsoff, Bartley Engelhart, Breighton Engelhart, Brienne Engelhart, Brooklyn Engelhart, Bowen Engelhart, Tiffany Engelhart, Allison Engelhart, Jillian Engelhart, Kaitlyn Ebel, Eric Ebel, Hope Ebel, John Ebel, Jacob Ebel and James Ebel and three great-grandchildren, Ryder Engelhart, Carter Engelhart and Daniel Engelhart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Simon J. Mitzel and her in-laws, Jacob and Katie (Meier) Engelhart.

Casketbearers will be Jonathan Olofson, Christopher Malsam, Brandon Malsam, Bartley Engelhart, Breighton Engelhart, Eric Ebel, John Ebel and Jacob Ebel.

Memorials may be made to Ashley Medical Center.
