Quinn D. Arave, former resident of Idaho Falls, Taylor, and Shelley, passed away April 11, 2006, in Independence, Oregon.

Quinn was born in Idaho Falls, to Herchel D and Mae Clark Arave on September 20, 1922. He grew up on the family farm in Taylor, Idaho.

On November 30, 1940, he married his high school sweetheart, Byrle Bigelow. Quinn served his country in World War II in the US Army in Germany.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including a building mission in the Idaho Falls area. He was a building contractor by occupation and in the course of his career supervised the construction of many LDS churches in the Northwest; later on he was a general contractor in the Tigard, Oregon, area until his retirement. He was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather.

He is survived by his dear wife of 65 years Byrle Bigelow Arave; his children, Kathleen and Allen Isaac of Utah, Stephen and Teresia Arave, Spencer and Janice Arave, Susan and Jon Brewster, Helen and Craig Woller, Cindy and Quin Christensen, all of Oregon; 45 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, also his sisters, Nola and Jay Conner; Donna and Don Carden; and brother-in-law, Vince and Gwen Peterson. Funeral Services were held Tigard, Oregon.

Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, at the Taylor Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from Noon to 12:45 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road.
