REIDA M. EVENSON
(1919 - 2011)
J. Reida M. Evenson, 92, a resident of Laurel Grove in Manitowoc, died on March 12, 2011 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc.
The funeral will be at 11 am Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. Officiating will be the Rev. Jim Rasmus with burial to follow at Valders West Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at Faith Lutheran Church from 9:30 am Thursday until 10:45 am.
Reida was born on March 1, 1919 in Maple Grove, daughter of the late Louis and Julia Gauger Bloedorn. On April 19, 1939 she married Delmar Evenson in Reedsville. He preceded her in death on January 27, 1986. Reida worked on the family farm for many years and became the bookkeeper of Evenson Construction as well. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, taught Sunday School for many years and was also a member of the choir at Faith Lutheran Church in Valders. She was also a member of the Homemakers organization of Manitowoc and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include one son, Conrad Evenson of Valders; six grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie Evenson, Lisa and Rodney White and the mother of Stephanie and Lisa, Barbara Evenson of Manitowoc; Debbie Crowe, Elden and Kaylinn Woldt, Barbara and Mike Quam, Arlen and Tina Woldt and 10 great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine Woldt, 2 brothers, Hubert and Paul Bloedorn and five sisters, Renata Jaeger, Arlene Toeple, Ruth Ciebell, Nora Frisch and Lorenda Wagner.
