JACKSON -- Alma Clare Spaulding, 96, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, at Jackson Manor.

She was born Dec. 3, 1901, at Bunker to William Akins and Cynthia LaRue.

In January 1917 at Bunker, she married Charles Spaulding, who died in 1967.

She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1963 and to Jackson in 1985. She was very active in the Cape Girardeau Senior Citizens organization.

Survivors include two sons, Ray and Roger Spaulding, both of St. Louis; five daughters, Rozena Klamen of St. Louis, Betty Robinson of Minnesota, Jo Anne Jenne of Nevada and Jennie Henson and Patsy Colvin, both of Jackson; four sisters, Marie Nash, Wade Daily, Mattie Van Wrinkle and June Plunk, all of Winona; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. A son, daughter, three brothers, sister and two grandchildren preceded her in death.

Visitation is Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Paul Short will officiate at graveside services at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau at 2.
