John D. Hurlock, 57, Kokomo, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at his residence. He was born Aug. 19, 1949, in Kokomo, to the late Robert E. Hurlock and the late Martha (Powell) Hurlock. He married Cathy A. Commons on Sept. 12, 1970, in Kokomo.

John was a member of the Kokomo Police Department for over 24 years. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of FOP Lodge 78, American Legion Post 6 and coached American Legion baseball for over 20 years. He attended Bethany Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are his wife, Cathy A. Hurlock, Kokomo; daughters, Heather and husband Brian Correll, Kokomo, and Holly and husband Shawn Cohee, Lake in the Hills, Ill.; son, Jacob Hurlock, Kokomo; sister, Luann and husband Ty Ridenour, Lebanon; grandchildren, Makenna and Olivia Cohee, Lake of the Hills, Ill., and Ethan Correll, Kokomo; and nephews, Robert and Rylan Ridenour, Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services are10 a.m. Thursday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., with Pastor Paul Commons officiating. Burial will be in Albright Cemetery.
