He attended school in Kalispell and was a graduate of the local high school. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Kalispell and was also a member of the American Legion, having served in the Army for both World War I and World War II. By occupation he was a lumber sealer and at the time of his death was employed by the Somers Lumber Company.
He is survived by one brother and four sisters: Hugh Fisher of Seattle, Mrs. C.H. Scherf and Mrs. J.A. Heller of Kalispell, Mrs. W.A. Corcoran of Seattle and Mrs. S. G. Rubinow of Berkeley, California, and an aunt, Mrs. A.D. Macdonald of Kalispell.
