The Kansas City Times, Kansas City, Missouri, on Monday, May 24, 1920, on page 2:
"MINTY--Mrs. Grace A. Minty, widow of the late Maj. Gen. Robert H. G. Minty, died yesterday at the home of her son, Harry E. Minty, 3533 Locust street. Mrs. Minty was 84 years old. She had been ill about two months. Her husband fought through the Civil War with the army of the Cumberland, entering the service as major in the Michigan volunteer calvary, later commanding that regiment as colonel, and afterward attaining the rank of major general. To that regiment is given credit for the capture of Jefferson Davis. Besides Harry E. Minty, one other son, Roy B. Minty of Sheridan, Wyo., and two daughters, Mrs. Page Robinson, Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. William Aspden, Glen Ridge, J.J. survive. Until about six months ago Mrs. Minty for several years had lived at Evanston, Ill. Burial will be in Jackson, Mich."
