Notes from Valders
Peter Knutson, one of the pioneer carpenter contractors of Liberty, died at the home of his son, Louis, last Friday after a lingering illness. Deceased had been in failing health for some time and in December suffered a stroke of paralysis. Since his wife's death five years ago, Mr. Knutson had spent the greater part of his time with his children at Chicago. The body was brought here for burial.

Mr. Knutson had reached the age of eighty years and came to Manitowoc County from Valders, Norway when a young man and located on a farm in the Town of Liberty, which was his home until recently.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Steeves and Mrs. Peterson and three sons, Cornelius of Liberty and Richard and Louis of Chicago and twelve grandchildren.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the home of Mrs. Hannah Knutson and the First Lutheran Church, Rev. A. O. White officiating.
