The above birth and death dates are the dates listed in a family record book and on the death certificate. In my opinion, the dates on the marker are incorrect.

Virginia (Jeannie) Belle Rice is the daughter of William Clairborne Rice and Amanda Virginia Feasell Morris. She was one of nine children. She was raised in Missouri, Hill County,Texas, and Grayson County, Texas..She married John Jasper Morris March 31, 1881. She had eight children. She lived in Marietta, Ok. and then Sanger, Texas. Virginia was a tiny woman, 5 ft. or less and weighed about 110 lbs in her young womanhood. She was well known for good gardening, including vegetables and flowers and a very good cook. She was a sweet, kind, mild tempered, hard working, Christian (Baptist) lady. To pay the funeral expenses for her husband, she went to her baking powder can and counted out enough money for the entire cost.
