William L. Haese, age 72, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Northpoint Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Oshkosh. William fought a courageous battle with kidney failure, liver and diabetes complications the last few years.He was born on December 4, 1944, in Fond du Lac, WI, to William A. and Eva D.(Hallock) Haese and resided in Waupun, WI in his early years. William was a graduate of Waupun High School. In 1966, he moved to Winneconne, permanently, building a home on the east shore of Lake Winneconne next to the family cottage.William loved spending summers and early fall at the family cottage on Lake Winneconne, growing up, where he enjoyed the great outdoors, especially the duck season! Come deer and bear season, he would head to his rustic log cabin in the Northwoods, in Phillips, WI spending many wonderful years hunting deer, grouse, and bear. He was a member of the Springbrook Sportsman Club, a former member of the Winneconne Jaycees, Winneconne Area Dance Club, and a Wisconsin Certified Hunter Safety Instructor, avid member and supporter of the NRA, member of the Butte Des Morts Conservation Club, Sturgeon for Tomorrow, and Trout Unlimited. William enjoyed many happy times having breakfast at his favorite spot in town, Jackie's Parkside with friends. He retired from Voith-Sulzer Paper Technology in Appleton as a quality control technician.William is survived by sons, William J. Haese, and Barry L. Haese, both of Oshkosh; a sister, Annette Haese Hackner, of Ellicott City, Maryland; cousins, Carol Haese (Harvey) Schmitz, Jeanne Haese, Kent (Wynne) Loehrke, Jill Loehrke (Corky) Lindstrom; nieces and nephews; former spouse and good friend, Diane Haese; and many other special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Eva (Hallock) Haese; aunts and uncles, Edith (Hallock) Drews and Arthur Drews, Arthur and Adeline Haese; and a cousin, Mary Ellen Loehrke.A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, June 1, 2017, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, 8396 Steeple Hill Dr. Larsen, WI. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Ted Johanson officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery.
