Ronnie Dennis, 73 , of Higbee passed away Monday, May 29, 2017 at Boone Hospital Center, Columbia, Missouri. Ronnie was born September 18, 1943 in Mexico, Missouri a son of the late Thomas Glenn and OLeta (Adams) Dennis.
On October 13, 1962, Ronnie married Linda Thornhill in Audrain County, Missouri. Ronnie was a hard worker and held several positions during his career. He worked for A.B Chance, Higbee School, Dennis & Son as a self-employed water hauler, Quality Roofing, and the Corrections Department where he retired from the Maintenance Department in 2008. He was a member of the Southern Randolph Christian Church and attended Timber Lake Christian Church. He was a Preacher, a Sunday School Teacher, and was involved with the Youth Jr. Worship group. Ronnie was a member of the Higbee Masonic Lodge.
Ronnie was a selfless man who above all loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Being the biggest supporter of his grandkids, he never missed a function that they were involved in. He enjoyed genealogy, and the connections he made with his research. He loved the outdoors; watching and feeding the birds, and gardening. He played the guitar, gave lessons, and previously played in a band. He recently started playing the guitar again after receiving a new one for Christmas.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his twin brother, Johnnie Dennis, Tommy Dennis, Harold Murray, and Joe Bill Dennis; sisters: Joanne Dennis, Dianne Dennis, Wynette Norfleet, Jeanette Clayton , Wanda Robinson, and Betty Ellis; granddaughter, Jessica Stoebe; and great-grandson, Alexander Stoebe.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Linda Dennis of Higbee, Missouri; son, Aaron Dennis and girlfriend Beth of Kansas City, Missouri; daughters: Melissa Whisenand and husband Tim of Higbee, Missouri, Penny Bennett and husband Doug of Moberly, Missouri, Stacie Bollman and husband Lee of Madison, Missouri; brothers: J.D Dennis and wife Vee of Moberly, Missouri; Sammy Dennis of Clark, Missouri, Mike Dennis of Conroe, Texas, and Bobby Murray of California; sisters: Suzanne Rowley and husband Gary of Knoxville, Iowa, Judy Barela and husband Roger of Centralia, Missouri, Marcia Dennis of Reno, Nevada and Shirley Jones of California; sister-in-law, Dora Dennis of Higbee, Missouri; grandchildren: Nathaniel Stoebe, Ronni Graves, Jalyn Dennis, Brady Bollman, Audrey Traster, and Kyle Bollman; great-grandchild, Lily Stoebe; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor John Bill Spilman officiating. Burial will follow at the Higbee City Cemetery, Higbee, Missouri.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to: Southern Randolph Christian Chapel, 403 Bradley Street, Higbee, Missouri 65257
