Martha Jean Edmondson, age 90, of Conyers died May 31, 2017. She was the longest member of Belmont Baptist Church. A social butterfly, Martha never met a stranger and always made everyone feel good about themselves. Martha was always a delightful person who had a twinkle in her eye and was still a child at heart. She continued to be a blessing to many after becoming a resident at A.G. Rhodes Nursing & Rehab, winning Ms. A.G. Rhodes the first year she was there. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Aubie and Fannie Bennett; sister, Maggie Jo Bills; and brother, Julian B. "J.B." Bennett. Surviving are her nieces, Mary Hendrix and her husband, Larry, of Cartersville, and Sue Mitchell and her husband, Fred, of Dahlonega; nephews, Richard Bills and his wife, Wanda, of Jacksonville, FL, and Harry Bills and his wife, BJ, of Auburn; great nieces, Gina Waldsmith, Donna Bills, and Michelle Foley; great nephews, Freddie Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Russ Hendrix, Rick Bills, David Bills, and Tim Bills; great-great nieces, Casey Waldsmith, Ashley Smith, Megan Smith, Aleina Mitchell, Shania Mitchell; great-great nephews, Andrew Mitchell and Rocky Mitchell. A funeral service will be held 11 o'clock June 2, 2017 at Belmont Baptist Church with Rev. Nolan Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 – 4 Friday afternoon. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Belmont Baptist Church Building Fund, 3275 Iris Drive SE, Conyers, GA 30013.
