Hobert Conley Townsend, Jr., 69, of Seymour went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 31, 2017. Conley was a long-time member and Deacon of Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert Conley Townsend, Sr., and Ina Reecie Metcalf Townsend of Sevierville.
Conley is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 43 years, Lois Trentham Townsend; sons, Brian Conley Townsend and Nicholas Andrew Townsend; granddaughter, Zoey Grace Townsend, all of whom he was so proud of and loved dearly; sisters, Wanda Coletta, Charlene Lawson, Alice Shults, and Linda (David) Whaley; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Lee Manis, and Mary Ruth and Roy Haggard; loving uncle and aunts, Winfred Metcalf, Doris Metcalf Franklin, and Josephine Trentham; and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Hudson Chesteen and Rev. Floyd Powell will be officiating. Family and friends will meet 11 AM Monday at Chilhowee Cemetery for the graveside service and interment. American Legion Post #104 will be providing military honors.
