Ronald Samuel “Ronnie” Pate, 66 of Knoxville went home to be with his Lord Thursday, June 1, 2017. He was born on November 27, 1950 in Knoxville to the late Robert William and Alviena Armatine Wilson Pate. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ronnie Parton and brother, Jim Pate

Ronnie retired as a road supervisor for Knoxville Area Transit. He voluntarily served our country in the 1st Marine Division as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Glenn Oak Baptist Church

He is survived by loving wife of 17 years Iva “Carol” Pate; son Chris (Jeni) Pate; daughter Angie (Rex) Morrison; stepdaughter Samantha (Justin) Cruetzinger; stepson Freddie Haddix Jr.; sister, Ruby (Eugene) Pate Jackson; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Tuesday. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, June 7 at 11:15 in The East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on Gov. John Sevier Highway for an 11:30 committal. Military honors will be provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
