GREENFIELD — Robert L. Runyan, 79, of Greenfield, died Feb. 19, 2007.

He was born May 21, 1927, the son of John and Gertrude (Long) Runyan. He attended Anderson High School and worked as a facilities engineer at the former Western Electric Plant in Indianapolis, and for the Ingalls Water Company. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Pam McNally of Middletown; a son, Rick Runyan of Lawrence; a son, Gary Runyan of Oaklandon; a son, Mike Runyan of Greenfield; a daughter, Sharon Goulding of Ingalls; a daughter, Karen Hale of Ingalls; a brother, Bruce Runyan of Kokomo; a brother, Dick Runyan of Anderson; a sister, Betty Shirley of Florida; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Additional close family members include Jim Tudor of Bakersfield, Calif., and Elizabeth and Dennis Smalling, Karen and Duane Batenhorst, Georgia and Phil Brunner, all of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martina Runyan.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville. Burial will follow in Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
