Paul Baker, 91, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 27th. Paul was born in Ursa, Illinois. He joined the Merchant Marines during World War II. He met the love of his life, Alfreda Henke and made her his bride in January, 1946. They and their 3 children lived in Quincy, Illinois until they moved to Arizona in 1971. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Baker Dinkheller, his wife, Alfreda Baker, and 2 grandbabies. He is survived by his 3 children: Carol Williams, Randy Baker, and Kattie Soto, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 9 great, great-grandchildren. Paul was very skilled at his work as a carpenter. Also he took pleasure in going to church, camping, hunting, fishing, and playing with his dogs. Funeral services will be as follows: Wed. June 7th, Visitation 9-10 a.m. followed by service at 10 a.m. at Best Funeral Home, 9380 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria, AZ. Following the service, burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery/ Mausoleum. There will be an escorted procession.
