JOYCE ADAMS
Sara Joyce Malcom Adams was born on August 19, 1932. She passed away September 7, 2003. She was the daughter of the late Emory Lewis Malcom and the late Annie Lou Jones Malcom of Madison, Georgia (Fairplay area).
She was married to the late Troy Erwin Adams for 55 years. They made their home in Social Circle where they raised 5 children, 4 sons and a daughter. Up to the time of illness, she was employed by Oxford Industries in Monroe, Georgia.
She was a pure southern Godly lady who was always helping her friends, relatives and co-workers in times of need. She never met a stranger and had a positive impact on all the people that knew her.
She taught her children and grandchildren to live by God's word, do unto others, as you would have them do unto you, and always be strong for others.
Her 5 loving children survive her, son, Kent & Leslie Adams of Social Circle; son, Lynn & Betty Adams of Pendergrass, GA., son, Dennis & Shelia Adams of Buckhead, GA., son, Ricky & April Adams of Social Circle, and daughter Karen & Chris Adams of Oxford,GA.She leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.She is also survived by 1 brother, James E. Malcom (Jimmy) and his wife, Faye Ellington Malcom of Covington and her brother-in-law, Jessie Malcolm of Morrow. She was preceded in death by her sister, the late Mrs. Jessie Malcolm (Betty).
Funeral services were held at the Social Circle First Baptist Church on September 9,2003 at 1:00 p.m. She was laid to rest in the Bostwick City Cemetery in Bostwick, Georgia.
Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
