Andes Man Dies in Crash
ARMOUR - Harold Lloyd Johnson, 37, Lake Andes, was killed instantly in a car-truck collision seven miles south of Armour Thursday afternoon.
Charles Mix County authorities said the accident occurred at 3 p.m. on Highway 281 when Johnson's car apparently struck the rear of a fuel oil truck driven by Paul Phillips, Lake Andes, who escaped injury.
Mr. Johnson was an employee of Northwestern Bell.
Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Richard Forde officiating.
The Stedronsky Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The death raised the 1970 South Dakota highway fatality toll to 46, compared with 75 on this date one year ago.
