Emil J. (Shorty) Bentz 37, of 42 Washington St., died in the Colorado General Hospital at Denver Monday of a heart condition. Mr Bentz had been a hospital there about three weeks.

He was a mechanic for the Southside Texaco. Mr Bentz was born in Eureka, S.D., July 15, 1923, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bentz. He moved with his family to Lindsay, as a young boy. He has lived in Billings since about 1935. Mr Bentz married Eugenia Ebach in Billings, Jan, 16, 1942. He was a member of the Congregational Church and the Billings Boat Club.

Surviving are his widow, three sons, Robert, Arthur, and Dale Bentz, a daughter, Shirley May Bentz, all of them home; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. August Bentz, 64 Charlene St.; three brothers, Reuben, 34 Marshall Drive; Herbert Bentz, 34 Marshall Drive, and Reinhold Bentz, 444 Hillview Lane; two sisters, Mrs Albert Iszler, 3415 4th Ave, S., and Mrs. Herman Debus, of Shepherd; a stepbrother August Bentz Jr., and a stepsister, Miss Nancy Bentz both of 64 Charlene St.

The body is at Smith's Funeral Home.
