Roy Jack "Todd" Preston age 89 of Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at his home. He was born June 1, 1928 on Burton Fork in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late William Moses "Curtis" and Mollie Jane Helton Preston. He was the husband of Phyllis Joy Prater Preston, who preceded him in death. Todd was the president of the Magoffin County Historical Society, and was a devoted member of the Prater Memorial Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Salyersville D.A.V. Chapter 15, the Magoffin Chapter #562 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Salyersville Masonic Lodge #769 F & AM. He was a member of the Magoffin County Muzzleloaders, the Magoffin County Tourism Committee, and the Sons of the Confederate with the Civil War Re-enactment Committee. In addition to his wife and parents, Todd is preceded in death by one son, Roy Neil Preston, four brothers, John Redmond Preston, Henry Ford Preston, Ralph Carter Preston, and William Roger Preston, and three sisters, Anne Preston Kelly, Luva Preston Connelley, and Glenna Sue Preston Howard. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Pioneer Village in Salyersville, Kentucky with Andrew Donner, Justin Williams, and John Blanton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bluegrass Cemetery at Salyersville, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home after 5 pm Sunday, June 11, 2017, and all day Monday. There will be Eastern Star rites given by the Magoffin Chapter #562 Order of the Eastern Star at 7 pm Sunday, June 11, 2017. There will be masonic rites given by the Salyersville Masonic Lodge #769 F & AM at 7 pm Monday, June 12, 2017. There will be military rites given by the Salyersville D.A.V. Chapter 15 the day of services. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Magoffin County Historical Society.
