She was born in Somerset, Ky. daughter of the late Oscar C. and Catherine Dick. She had been employed by the state of Indiana as a clerk for 15 years, retiring in 1993. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Elbert Arthur, who died on December 19, 1973, She is survived by three children, Debbie Bray of Morgantown, Indiana, Norene Sowders of Ohio and James Paul Arthur of Greenwood, Indiana
