DENNIS J. HUGHES, 53, of Gilbert, Ariz., died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Lund Hospice Home, after a courageous battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma and the West Nile Virus. He was raised near Poe, Ind. where he graduated from Heritage High School. He then went on to graduate from Indiana University School of Law, and moved to Arizona, where he was employed with Allstate Insurance Company for 28 years. "A man with incredible wit and a wonderful sense of humor, he gave to us a life lesson of understanding and acceptance." He was the youngest of six siblings. Surviving are his mother, Mary A. Hughes of Fort Wayne; sisters, JoAnn (Richard) Ruff of Cornelius, N.C., and Jane Beauchot of Fort Wayne; brothers, Howard N. Hughes of Ann Arbor, Mich. and Robert M. (Brenda) Hughes of Fort Wayne; four nephews; two nieces; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; caregivers and best friends Matt Kyle and Walt Kyle; and a host of other devoted caring friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Hughes, in 1998; and brother, Arthur David Hughes, in 1967. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Fort Wayne.
