Carol Sue Boeving, 51, Springfield, Mo., passed away on Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, in Cox South Medical Center, in Springfield. She was born Feb. 23, 1955, in Springfield, Ill., to Johnie Ray and Delores Herd. Carol was a graduate of Monett High School and Missouri State University. She was a former part owner of H & W Oil Co., in Monett, and Sto's Truck Stop in Mount Vernon. For the past six years, Carol and her husband, Jim, owned and operated Springfield Tobacco and Spirits. She was a member of Central Assembly of God. Carol is preceded in death by her mother. On May, 20, 1978, she was joined in marriage to James F. Boeving, who survives. Also surviving are their two sons, Michael Anthony Boeving, of Columbia, Mo., and James Nicholas, and his wife, Sarah Renee Boeving, of Washington D.C.; her father, Johnie Ray Herd, of Monett; brother Ronald Ray Herd, of Nuvarro, Fla.; her in-laws, Mary and Frank Boeving, and sister-in-law Barbara Boeving, all of St. Louis, Mo. Graveside and burial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 22, in Mount Vernon I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Bradford officiating, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
