Monroe on July 5, 1891, in Camden, New Jersey and lived in Asbury Park, New Jersey, for 54 years. They had three children, Florence, Charles and William. She was a member of the Ballard Methodist Church. She had nine or ten grandchildren.
She also a daughter, Marguerite June Deacon, out of wedlock with William Feeney.
