Barbara Jo Stone Borchers, 75 years 8 months and 22 days of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life around 5:15 a.m. on Monday, June 12th, 2017 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Center.

Barbara Jo was born in the Bethelridge community of Pulaski County, Kentucky on Sunday, September 21st, 1941, daughter of the late William Orville and Ina Ruth Hurston Stone. Barbara was a homemaker, she enjoyed playing on her computer, working on Ancestry.com, and spending time with family. Barbara Jo was a christian and enjoyed reading her bible.

Barbara Jo was survived by two daughters, Rebecca Sue "Becky" and Amanda Catherine "Amy"; three grandchildren, Merry Jane Borchers, Shelby Elizabeth Borchers, and Joseph David Borchers, that she adopted as her own; grandchildren, Brodric Scott David Pohlman and Cozette, Ramsey, and Persephone; three sisters, Judy Ellen (and James) Brinker, Brenda Carol (and Leland) Barnett, and Marjorie Jayne "Kitty" Leubbe; one brother, Warren Orville Stone; her cousins, special friends and caregivers, Sarah Ann McClung (and Gary Lyons) and Deby Blackstone; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville Stone, who departed this life on November 13th, 1996 and Ina Ruth Stone, who departed this life on July 9th, 1985; her husband of fourty-seven years, David William "Skip" Borchers, whom she married in Kenton, Kentucky on January 25th, 1964; and two brothers, Charles Alvin Stone and Daryl Wayne Stone.

In accordance with Barbara's wishes cremation services were preformed with the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. There were no visitations or funeral services held for Barbara Jo.

Barbara Jo's ashes were scattered by her family at 4:42 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13th, 2017 at Cumberland Falls in Corbin, Kentucky. Afterwords Amy, Shelby, and Amber sang: Down By The River To Pray.
