Joseph Golightly, one of the best known men in Golden, passed away at his home on the North side Tuesday morning after an illness of several months duration. He had reached the age of 48 years and four months, having been born January 30, 1862, at Duquoin, Ill. He came to Colorado in 1870, settling in Golden, where he had made his home continuously. He is survived by a wife, two daughters, five brothers, three sisters and his aged father. He had been engaged in mining until a few years ago, when he was appointed city nightwatchman. He was a faithful and efficient officer, but was obliged to give up tbe duties about six months ago on account of illness. He was very prominent in the affairs of the local camp, Woodmen of the World, and was an active member of the fire department for many years. The remains will be interred at Golden cemetery this afternoon. Rev. Pegrum, of the Christian church will conduct the services at the home at 2 o clock and the Woodmen will take charge of the ceremonies at the grave.
