Walter F. Ashe, Lt. SC, USN (Ret), 91, died July 26, 2007. A native of Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of Walter F. Ashe, Sr. and Genevieve (Ross) Ashe. Walter was a decorated Navy Supply Corps Lieutenant who received numerous Awards and Navy Commendations. He served in WWII and the Korean conflict and retired from the Navy, after 30 years honorable service in Key West, FL, on October 1, 1966. Upon retirement he undertook a career as a professional artist. He had recently moved to Jacksonville, FL, to Fleet Landing to be closer to family. He is survived by his wife, Adelaide Florence Brooks Ashe, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation was held Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Ponte Vedra Valley. A Funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 30, with Father Christopher Liguori officiating with burial following at Ponte Vedra Valley in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
