George was born in England and immigrated to America in 1853. George served during the Civil War, Union Army,served with 4 IL Cavalry Co. K per list of civil war veteran burials in this cemetery. George married Francis about 1867 probably in Illinois, they had 11 children the first four born in Illinois from 1867 to 1873 and the rest in Nebraska beginning 1873. In the 1910 Census 9 of their 11 children were still living. According to Census research from 1880 until his death they lived in the Battle Creek area.
