Harvey was born in Illinois to Edward David Gamel and Cynthia Ann Millage-Gamel. Harvey first married Lottie McNeill and had one child, he second married Minnie Cora Buskirk May 30, 1911 in Bloomfield, Knox County, Nebraska they had 7 children. Harvey was a farmer and he made home brew, his friends would come over to drink with him. Harvey and Minnie sang Irish tunes at weddings and socials, his children also had and have instrumental musical talents. I remember going to my Aunt's house in Nebraska and they would all get together and play wonderful music, all by ear no sheet music. Harvey had red hair.
