Barbara Lee Anderson
MARCH 4, 1939 – MARCH 26, 2017

Barbara Lee Anderson died peacefully in her home in Denver, Colorado on March 26, 2017 at the age of 78.

Barb is survived by her husband, Chuck; children, Rick Anderson, his wife, Tami Jill; Tami Mills, and her husband, Neil; and 4 Grandchildren, Sarah, Rachel, Charlie and Michael. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Agnes Allphin and sisters, Shirley and Beverly.

Barb was born on March 4, 1939 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. After moving to Denver during high school, she graduated from Aurora High School in 1957. She eloped with Chuck on May 29, 1959. At that time she worked for the Telephone Company in Denver. Rick was born in April of 1960 and Tami in June of 1961.

Barb worked for a short time in a bullet factory and then stayed home with the kids during their early years, doing child care in their home. When the kids were in elementary school, she worked in Denver Public School lunchrooms. Later employment was cashier at Arizona Drug Store, key punch operator at Community Service Systems, Inc., word processing at Cigna Insurance and payroll at United Securities.

She had a strong faith and chaired the Worship Board at Cloverdale Church of God, and also was on the Social Board, taught Vacation Bible School, helped in the nursery and was the Greeter for Sunday morning worship. She was the sponsor for the Denver Area Church of God Youth Choir – God's Vibrations in the 70's. She had been active in TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) as weight recorder for several years.

She thoroughly enjoyed her Grandchildren – always willing to help with their care, picking them up from school and activities and proudly watching them in Irish dancing, high school football games and Boy Scout and Girl Scout activities.

Charlie, her grandson, posted this about her – "The world lost one of its brightest stars. Grandma, I can't wait to see you again and I can't wait to see your flawless smile, and feel your embracing hugs. This isn't goodbye, this is see you later. Life will be hard without you. But you're better now even though you should still be here with all of us. We will forever miss you."

Rachel, her granddaughter posted this – "I will treasure the memories forever. Endless games of Sorry, Trouble and Memory Match. Watching Disney movies. Sleepovers. Dinner with all of our families together. Camping (including mishaps in the pop-up trailer). Looking after our dogs, Jessie and Chloe. Going to family reunions. Countless celebrations. We will miss you, Grandma/Mom/Barb, but now you are beyond pain and cancer and hurt. We love you. Until we meet again."

Her funeral is scheduled for Sunday, April 2, 2017, at Cloverdale Church of God, 5705 W. Louisiana Ave., Lakewood, CO. Visitation and viewing from 1-1:45 pm. Service at 2:00 pm. Graveside service following at Crown Hill Cemetery, 2907 Wadsworth Blvd., Denver, CO, with a dinner to follow at Cloverdale Church of God. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barb's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cloverdale Church of God for the kitchen remodel or to American Diabetes Association or American Cancer Society.

Arrangements under the direction of Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, Cemetery & Arboretum, Wheat Ridge, CO.
