We put this grave stone here in the Erb cemetery in remembrance of Benedict A. Mullett (Mollatt) at the time of death he lived on about a 150 acre farm on the south side across the road of this Erb cemetery & also owned a 40 acre farm to the west side of this Erb cemetery on the same side of the road here in Limpy Town , Members of Benedicts brother Jocabs family bought the 150 acre farm & are all buried here in the Erb cemetery , our records show that , that was the original farm were Mollatts bought when they first arrived here from Oberramsern Switzerland .
- THE BENEDICT STORY-
After the death of father Benjamin , sons Benedict & Jocab became hired hands for a Amish farmer here in Holmes County & they both married Amish girls & joined the Amish faith . At Benedicts death he was a victim of a grave robbery , his body was stolen & sold in the black market for medical research , they took the body & left the cloth . We found the records of his farm , here by the Erb cemetery , there were broken stones & field stones & other family members here & we decided to honor him with his own stone here.
- After Benedicts death ... the Benedict family moved west to LaGrange & mostly Nappanee Indiana , Later some moved further west to Kansas .
