ATHENS -- Services for Jack Algeo, 39, and his son, Michael, 12, of Fairway Oak, Athens Route 1, will be conducted Thursday, 3 p.m., at the Jagers and Sons Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Rice and the Rev. Lorrin Kreider will officiate and burial will be in the Alexander Cemetery.
Mr. Algeo and his son were killed Monday evening when struck by lightning at Lake Snowden. They had been fishing and apparently took refuge under a tree when a severe storm broke. The two were found under the tree Tuesday by two friends who were searching for them.
Michael is survived by his mother and two sisters, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Algeo; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Garnet Delong, Columbus, and his maternal grandfather, Otto Bethel, Glouster.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
