William R. Clark, Jr., age 57, of Madison, died on Thursday, April 21, 2005. He was born on July 27, 1947, in Madison, the son of William Sr. and Susan E. (Lynch) Clark. William was often called "Bill" by friends, "Bud" by family and by all, he was known as a generous soul. He graduated from Madison East High School in June of 1966. After graduation, he was enlisted into the U.S. Navy and served for four years. Bill worked for the Department of Transportation for 27 years, retiring earlier this Spring. He was a member of Burke Lutheran Church. Bill lived each day by the "golden rule", and he never said anything bad about another soul. Amiable, kind and generous, he was deeply loved by his entire family. Bill is survived by his mother, Susan E. Clark; sisters, Gail Clark Musillami, Julie Clark, and Colleen Clark-Bernhardt (David); a brother, Gary Clark; and an abundance of adoring nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2005, at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, with the Rev. Russ Leeper presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the services on Monday. A Gaelic prayer for you; our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Deep peace of the running waves to you. Deep peace of the flowing air to you. Deep peace of the smiling stars to you. Deep peace of the quiet earth to you. Deep peace of the watching shepherds to you. Deep peace of the Son of Peace to you.
