He was born on August 23, 1916 in Yakima, the son of John Joseph Vandiver and Lula Estee Vandiver. John was a life member of the Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Yakima High School and later graduated from the University of Washington in architectural studies. He was a prominent retired Yakima building contractor and a retired church organist. He was a life member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonary and a Yakima Compass 24 Lodge member. John was past president of Southwest Rotary and a member of the Engineers Club. He served on the planning commission of the City of Yakima. …(Partial Obituary)
