Theresa -- The funeral for Mrs. Bessie E. Kingston, 79, of 134 Commercial St., was Friday at the Frederick Brothers Funeral Home, Theresa, with the Rev. Randall Gill, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her name to the Theresa Emergency Corps.
Mrs. Kingston, a widow of Minor Kingston, died July 13 at her home. She had been in failing health a year.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Verna) Aiken and a son, Willis (Tubby), both of Theresa; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A sister and two brothers died before her.
Born near Prescott, Ont., July 4, 1904, a daughter of Albert and Martha Stephenson Johnston, she married Minor Kingston of the Prescott section Sept. 10, 1922.
The couple moved to the Ogdensburg section where Mr. Kinston served an apprenticeship with the Handley Bakery eight years. In 1930 they moved to Theresa where he owned and operated his own bakery. Mr. Kingston died in October 1964 at the age of 52.
Mrs. Kingston was a member of the Theresa, Philadelphia and Antwerp Senior Citizens.
