LUTHER - Allen L. Bean, Sr. of Luther died Thursday, August 10, 2000 at Spectrum Health East in Grand Rapids. He was 76.
Mr. Bean was born on March 9, 1924 in Comstock Park to William and Florence (Ware) Bean. He married Wanda Lou Haywood on October 12, 1972 in Sand Lake.
He served with the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II and lived in Grattan, as well as Illinois and Oregon, before moving to Luther 20 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Lou, sons Wayne (Christa) of Manistee; and Mike (fiancee, Erin Moore) of Luther; children by a previous marriage: Judy (Earl) Thomas, and Allen Jr. (Linda) both of Grand Rapids, Dan fo Grattan, Jane (Keith) Fisk of Bitely and Sue (Ken) Warner of Mackinaw City; sister, Myrtle Slagal of Comstock Park; 13 grand children and 7 great grand children.
Services will be at 2 PM Monday at McDowell Funeral Home in Reed City. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Luther.
