Attilio Ferrara, Former Chef Dies - Attilio Ferrara, 75, well known former chef in this locality, died at the Canonsburg General Hospital at 7:20 a.m. this morning. He was born in Avellino, Italy, on June 17, 1880, and had lived in Canonsburg for the past 52 years. Ferrara was a member of St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Sons of Italy lodge, where he was a charter member and past president. He also served as a member of the executive council of the Supreme Lodge of the Sons of Italy and as a delegate of the local lodge at several conventions. His wife Giovannina died April 23, 1912.
He leaves the following children: Carl. Ambridge; Guy, Pittsburgh; Elmer, Travelers Rest, S. C; Attilio Jr., Latimer, Pa.; Albert, Great Falls, Mont.; Sue, wife of Gino Orbin, Canonsburg: Jennie, wife of Caesar Ricci, Clairton; Geraldine, wife of Councilman Anthony Merante, Canonsburg; 19 grandchildren and five great grand children. He also leaves two sisters: Mrs. Raffela Spagnuolo, New York City and Mrs. Emma Spezial, New York City.
Friends will be received after 7 o'clock tonight at the John F. Yoney Funeral Home where services will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. followed by Requiem High Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's R. C. Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to make contributions to St. Patrick's Building Fund in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Attilio Ferrara.
