Obituary excerpt from car accident article:

Michael D. Toplisek, 33, Strabane, who died in a one-car accident on Route 19, five miles north of Washington at 5:50 a. m. Saturday. Toplisek was born Jan. 27, 1923, in Strabane, a son of Mary Toplisek and the late Anton Toplisek. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of SNPJ and KSK.J both of Strabane. The deceased entered the U. S. Army on Jan. 29. 1943 and was discharged on Nov. 5, 1945 with the rank of corporal. He served with the 558th Field Artillery, spending one and a half years in Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Europe-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze stars, and the World War II Victory Medal. Toplisek's father died in 1941.

Surviving are his mother; his wife, Mary Kraynak Toplisek; two sons, Michael Jr. and Joseph Anton, and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, at home; two brothers, Anthony, Greenville, and John, Strabane, two sister, Pauline, wife of Harold Christy, Pomona, Calif., and Mary, wife of Philip Beltz, Strabane.

Friends are being received at the John F. Yoney Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by requiem high mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, in charge of the Rev. Paul Simko. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
