Reuben Burrow Zinn was born in Pontotoc Co, MS. His father was a Cumberland Presbyterian Minister in Texas and RB was probably named after another Cumberland Presbyterian Minister named Reuben Burrow. RB served in the Civil War along with his father, Jacob Albert Zinn and brother, John F. Zinn. After the war, he and other family members went o MO possibly on a cattle drive. This is where he met his wife, Mary Elizaberh Moon. In 1873, RB and Mollie came to TX in a covered wagon. In 1883, RB moved his family to Big Spring where he and Mollie lived on Scurry Street. RB was an honest and hardworking man. He was a surveyor and a founding member of the First Methodist Church in Big Spring, Howard Co., TX. The Heritage Museum (also on Scurry St) has several of Reuben and Mary's things.
