M.W. ‘Dub' Gentry
Services for M.W. "Dub" Gentry, 85, of Jacksonville, will be at 2 p.m.
Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Renfro Memorial Chapel at Boren-Conner Funeral Home, with
the Rev. Randall Anderson, the Rev. Corbie Grimes and the Rev. D.L. Stewart
officiating.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of
Boren-Conner Funeral Home of Jacksonville.
Mr. Gentry died Tuesday morning at a Tyler hospital.
He was born July 20, 1920, in Rusk.
He was a lifelong area resident and a member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Gentry was president of Jacksonville Canneries & Food Center Inc., and retired
from Texas Bank & Trust Co. as trust officer and vice president.
He was a former member of Kiwanis Club, having served on the board of directors and
as president. He was a former member of the board of directors of the Jacksonville
Chamber of Commerce, the United Fund, and other civic organizations.
Mr. Gentry served as a pilot in the United States Air Force during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Gentry.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dr. Gary L. Malone of
Colleyville, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Emmett and Mary Gentry of Hillsboro;
two granddaughters, Sally Malone of Austin and Jill Malone of Waco; and nieces and
nephews, including nephew and wife, Carl and Ree Witt of Tyler.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
