Michael Tyrone Sharperson was a first round draft pick of the Toronto Blue Jays in 1981 and made his Major League debut in 1987. He was a second and third baseman, playing mostly with the Los Angeles Dodgers, although he did have brief stints with the Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves.

During his 8 year career, Sharperson hit .280 with 10 home runs and 123 RBIs, being used mostly as a utility player. He won a World Series with the Dodgers in 1988, and was a member of the 1992 National League All-star team. He hit .300 with a .387 OBP that year.
