William Alexander Grant, my great great grandfather, was the son of Francis Arthur (1774-1859) and Mary Grant (1777-1827).

WAG was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters: Elizabeth Grant (1801-1865), Jane Grant (1803-1842), Richard Draper (1806-1833), Mary (1808-1814), Infant girl, stillborn (12-1-1810), Robert Grant (1812-?), Francis John (1815-1899), Christina Marie Grant (1818-1882) and WAG.

WAG married Eliza Smith* (1823-1913) on Dec. 6, 1843. Together they had six children: Francis John (1846-1920), Mary E (1847-1850), Robert W (1849-1906), Smith J (1852-1959), Pell Claugh* (1856-1917), and Mary A (1859-1922).

WAG's father Francis* had a second wife, Sarah Serena Bennett* (1825-1882). They had an additional eight children and they will be listed under her name.
