C. Clinton Utz

C. Clinton Utz, 84, of 217 Penn Street, died yesterday at 2:45 p.m. at the Hanover General Hospital of the effects of a fractured skull he suffered in a fall from a ladder Tuesday, Oct. 4.
Dr. Mark Redding Jr., deputy York County coroner reported Mr. Utz also suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, and had been in a coma from the time he was admitted to the hospital, shortly after he fell from a ladder at the home of a friend, Charles D. Kessler, 30 Granger Street, while doing some painting.
He was born in Carroll County, Md., a son of the late Uriah and Rebecca L. Stegner Utz, and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, York Street.
Mr. Utz retired nine years ago from Revonah Spinning Mills, where he had been employed 27 years.
His wife, Mrs. Sadie N. Sellers Utz, died in April 1950. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
The Rev. George E. Stauffer, his pastor, will conduct the funeral services Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Bucher Funeral Home, Frederick Street. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
