Nicholas K. Schad, 14 of rural Kiel died Thursday evening December 25, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer at Childrens Hospital, Milwaukee. He was born on July 25, 2000 in Manitowoc son of Craig & Cindy (Halbach) Schad. Nick was currently a freshman at Kiel High School. He was involved in football, wrestling and School Hill baseball. Nick also enjoyed 4 wheeling, going up north, hunting and being in the woods or out on a lake. His greatset joy was hanging out with his many friends and family. He especially loved frisbee golf at Hingiss Park with all his friends. Nick will be remembered for always wanting to help others and not to have others worry about him. His courage and strength was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Survivors include his parents, Craig & Cindy, his sisters; Kayla Schad & Brianna Schad, his brother; Cody Schad, his maternal grandmother; Sharon Halbach, Aunts and Uncles; Laurie (Keith) Jandrey, Sister Veronica Schad, Barb Gaedtke (Casey Stahl), Joanne (Michael) O'Neil, Lisa (Steve) Rathsack, Rose (Dean) Behnke, Wayne (Anna) Schad, Kevin (Christine) Schad and Wendy (Fran "Slim") Meyer, his longtime best friend; Julian Faust. Nick is further survived by his new dog, Diesel Von Baron, along with other relatives and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Alfred "Fritz" & Arlene Schad and Kenneth Halbach, uncle; Terry Halbach, a special neighbor; Bob Wester, along his dog and baseball partner; Shelbie.

Funeral services for Nick will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 4:00pm at St. Peter UCC, (424 Fremont St. Kiel) with Dan Krueger, Licensed Lay Minister officiating. Cremation has taken place. A time of visitation and support will be held at the church from 11:00am until the time of the Service.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.

Nick and his family would like to thank the many friends, neighbors and family for all the support and prayers. They would also like to express their appreciation to Kiel and the surrounding communities for the outpouring of love and support shown to Nick and his family.
