Many friends in Ferndale were grieved to hear of the death of Launcelot Beacom, eldest son of Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Beacom of Fortuna; he died last Friday as a result of Spanish influenza at Edgewood Arsenal, Edgewood, Maryland. He was formerly a student in the Fortuna High School and was well known to all students throughout the country owing to his interest in the various athletic events connected with the schools.
